PONTE da CHANCA NOITE LUGO Este puente fue construido para el paso del ferrocarril en Lugo, pasando por encima del barrio conocido como "A Chanca" hoy pegado a Lugo pero entonces una pequeña aldea de las afueras.El río que cruza es el Rato, poco despues de unirse al Fervedoira. Esta importante obra de ingeniería ferroviaria, construida para el paso del ferrocarril de la línea A Coruña-Palencia, tiene una longitud de 298 metros y 29 de altura máxima , con 20 arcos de medio punto peraltados, todos iguales de 9,5 m. de luz, construidos en sillería de granito y pizarra. Su construcción se llevó a cabo entre 1871 y 1874, bajo la dirección del ingeniero Ángel G. del Hoyo y se inauguró en mayo de 1880. Este puente, constituyó una de las construcciones ferroviarias más importantes de España. El primer ferrocarril llegó a la ciudad de Lugo el 5 de octubre de 1875 procedente de A Coruña.
