This is the 2-inch hydraulic ram pump of my own design, which I call ET-2 shown in a Youtube posting 2 years ago, located in Barangay (Village) San Gregorio, Alaminos, Laguna Philippines about 2 hours south of Manila. It was installed by the villagers themselves based on a manual I supplied, in the middle months of 2006, and has been supplying them with upwards of 20000 liters of drinking water per day. The two house-like structures above the hydram are the former pumphouses and reservoir when they where still using a diesel engine-pump to lift water to the village (in the process spending around P 30000 per month on fuel). This reservoir now acts as the drive tank, accumulating water from a spring about 800 meters away. The drain pipe of the reservoir served as the connection point of the drive pipe, where I simply added a small-diameter stand pipe and ball valve. This video was taken 2 years after it was installed. The rubber disk of the impulse valve has been replaced several times, the longest-lasting being rubber from an airplane tire. However, the delivery valve rubber has not been replaced yet, as the air-chamber section has not been opened up since installation. The drive tank is 8 meters above the ram pump (drive head), the village storage tank (shown in another video posting) is located 30 meters above the ram pump (delivery head). Henry Omaga Diaz of the late evening news program BANDILA of ABS CBN Channel 2, visited Alaminos Goat Farm to do a segment for the news program. Henry had fun working while milking, doing sensory testing of milk from the udder and feeding the goats during the shoot. Off Camera we talked about our advocacy in goat dairying in using the Saanen Buck to upgrade the 1.5 million native does in the hands of the farmers in the countryside. The possibilities of the farmers producing both meat and milk with the same goat, just imagine how it would improve the opportunities of the farmers in the countryside to make a life better for them. The health benefits of goat milk was also discussed. We also talked about the need for government to have a balance approach in its development program for agriculture and industrialization in the countryside
